The Toddler could not stop enjoying your garden. Smelling the flowers, looking at the bees, wondering around became his number 1 hobby. My friends and I really enjoyed your beautiful cottage. Thanks for the warm welcome touches we found!

We've had a lovely week. The weather couldn't have been better. We were so lucky! The cottage is quaint & full of atmosphere, the bed very comfy! We enjoyed exploring Kent. Thank you for the welcome basket, we've stayed in a few self-catering cottages but have never been presented with anything so generous.

April 2017
We have spent an idyllic few days in this lovely cottage. We received a very warm welcome and the basket and flowers were a lovely touch. Unfortunately one of our dogs had an accident and ripped his pad - the local vets in Teynham were outstanding and treated him immediately.....also big thanks to The Carpenters Arms who provided us a gorgeous take away feast on plates which we returned. A very warm welcome from the landlords was received. Thank you.
Ms Britton - September 2015
A short break but nonetheless a lovely one! We managed to sit in the beautiful garden, enjoy some lovely walks with our dog Harvey, had a good meal at The Carpenters Arms, visited Whitstable to enjoy a walk along Tankerton beach. The whole family spent a wonderful time in your pretty cottage and in the amazing garden. The time goes by very fast because of our interesting tours around Kent. So it wasn't enough time for a visit to your local pub - Carpenters Arms! So...we'll be back soon, I hope!!
The Follinger Family - August 2015
Thank you for letting us feel very welcome, with all the nice surprises! We enjoyed the very narrow roads near Box Cottage; we had our own private driveway coming from Newnham! We love Box Cottage! We enjoyed the Kent and East Sussex Railway, Bodiam Castle, London, Royal Tunbridge Wells, a trip along the coast (Whitstable, Herne Bay, Ramsgate, Sandwich), Brighton, Easbourne with Beach Head and Canterbury. Coming "home" in the evening and having a drink in your beautiful garden was really great!! Thank you!

Our second visit to Box Cottage and just as wonderful as the first. Thank you Marcia for the welcome hamper, flowers etc and for lighting the wood burner for our arrival! We have had a restful break but also found time to visit The Carpenters Arms for a music night, The George Inn for Sunday lunch and Doddington Village hall for a festive panto! Can't wait to come back in February with our son. Many thanks once again for your hospitality.
December 2014 -Maria and Dave
Thank you for your lovely welcome goodies and logs for the wood fire. The Cottage was lovely and full of character, nice and warm, very cosy. We enjoyed our stay here and will try to come next year. Our two dogs soon made themselves at home and enjoyed the nice walks in the area.
November 2014 - Mr Villis from Portugal
Thank you Marcia for the use of your quaint little cottage. We are no strangers to these parts and frequent the local pubs on many weekends away up on the downs. We have stayed in Doddington, Otterden and Stalisfield on many occasions but this was our first stay in Eastling, a village we adore. Box Cottage has been our best yet and has captured our hearts. I feel this is not only due to its wonderful quirky character but predominantly the wonderful homely atmosphere you have created and the personal touches you supply. Our only disappointment has been having to leave early as our grandson had a tummy upset and needed his Mummy and Daddy! Upside is we have already booked to come back next month which we shall look forward to very much!
November 2014 - Maria and Dave
Thank you for your lovely cottage! Our break was very pleasant. We managed to fit a lot of things - Belmont Gardens, Doddington, Mount Ephraim... The country is very beautiful!! We like the garden and the squirrels! We really enjoyed our stay here!
November 2014 - The Du Merle Family
We had a wonderful few days in Box Cottage. Thank you for the warm welcome and the very thoughtful food hamper, not to mention the beautiful fresh flowers awaiting us on the dining table. We have had a very relaxing time here and hope to visit again in the future.
October 2014 - Kieran and Tess
Thank you for providing such a lovely cottage and with the lovely extras of food, drink and flowers. Now I know why old people ( particularly in the north) were short and hunched over - anyone tall and upright would never have survived into old age living in a cottage like this! Thanks and best wishes.
October 2014 - Steven and Jackie
This was our first family holiday.. it has been perfect. The Cottage is like a home from home. The bread and cereals etc were spot on, especially for having that essential first cup of the day. Beds are comfy and the fireplace a fantastic way to warm the cottage. The garden is peaceful and was a perfect place for breakfast on our first morning here. Kitchen is well equipped to cook evening meals and plenty of crockery and cutlery. Would recommend Howletts to visit and Whitefriars shopping centre in Canterbury. Thanks to Sue next door for the honey. The pigs in the field opposite are lovely. Went to walk to see the ewe tree and woods. Thank you for a perfect break. P.s the local owl family are a treat to hear along with the resident frog in the garden pond!
September 2014- The Jenkins Family
Fantastic stay in The Box Cottage. Thanks for the Cava. Oysters in Whitstable, curry in Faversham, Scotney Castle ( and the Vineyard Pub). All wonderful apart from banging my head!

Our visit to Box Cottage in Eastling, Kent was certainly a box of delights. The beautiful fresh flowers which festooned the character property and the thoughtful welcome basket helped us to feel instantly at home. During the week I really felt we'd moved in when one of the neighbours thoughtfuly brought round home grown courgettes. The local pub had excellent food and we loved the church , the two thousand old yew tree next to it and the enthusiastic pigs nearby. Thank you to all involved making our stay so cosy and memorable.

Just spent two lovely weeks at Box Cottage with 2 children. Although the weather was not always good, the cottage was always warm & cosy. Cooking was fun every tool you needed was in the kitchen. I myself ( 1,90 m) had sometimes trouble with the low doors , but that added to the charm of the cottage. Thank you very much!

Thank you.
Mr. R.N Australia 4.10.10
The most charming cottage, warm and cosy. No one renting this gorgeous, delicous cottage could have asked for a better owner/renter. The cottage was spotless and we tried to leave it in the same condition we found it. We both slept well and loved our surroundings, the gardens, the neighbours and the pub. If I had to give Chocolate Box cottage a score from 1-10 it would be 20! We are hoping to come again next year.
